Mount Gulugod Baboy can be found in Southern Batangas. With the jump-off point located in one of the more popular dive resorts, a lot of hikers have flocked to the mountain to see what it has to offer. This is a very relaxing and fairly easy day hike, which makes it perfect for beginners. In a span of 1 to 2 hours, you can already reward yourself with the wonderful view up the summit. The picturesque rolling hills and blue seas are refreshing sights as you wind down after the trek. Lounge about in the tall grasses with the vast sky just out of reach. Aside from that, you also get a view of the different peaks of nearby mountains and water bodies snaking below you. Speaking of, always be on the lookout for wild animals! Hikers have been known to see a snake or two cross their path in the mountains.
All in all, it is truly a nice weekend getaway! Be one with nature and enjoy the wonders it has to offer. Once you’re done with the mountain, head back to the resort where you can stay the night and try out other activities. Go swimming or diving and make the most out of your vacation. From the jump-off point, there are actually several trails leading up to the summit. All are pretty straightforward with respective paths clearly marking your way up the mountain. However, be sure to choose the ones with abundant shade. You wouldn’t want to have the burning heat of the sun follow you throughout your hike! Nevertheless, the adventure starts as you figure out your way around the mountain and discover sights and attractions along the way.
One thing to note is that this trek will actually lead you to three different peaks. You will pass through Peak 1 (Gulugod Baboy), Peak 2 (Gitna) and Peak 3 (Pinagbanderahan). The third peak is the highest point of the mountain. The iconic tree of Gulugod Baboy marks this peak. It doesn’t take long for one to reach the summit. After passing through a few stores and cemented trails, you will reach your destination. Be sure to take a lot of pictures, especially if you happen to catch the sunset!
How to Get There
It’s important to plan your trip in advance to make sure you know exactly what to do and where to go on the day itself. Here are some ways to get to your destination:

(Batangas City – Mabini – Jump off point)
Mount Gulugod Baboy is located in Anilao, Batangas. For hikers coming from Manila, take a bus for Taft to Buendia. It will take you directly to Batangas Grand Terminal where you get off. From there, ride a jeepney to Mabini. Proceed to Philpan Dive Resort by hiring a trike.
An alternative way is to use private transportation. This is much more convenient and comfortable especially after a whole day of adventure. Drive directly to the resort where you may park you car. That is also where you will make necessary registration for the hike. Although not required, you may also choose to hire a guide for 400 pesos. The trail is so established so getting a guide isn't necessary.
