2016: A Year Full of Blessings, Adventures and Happy Memories

Few days ago, 2016 has finally come to an end. However, I’m still overwhelmed with all the blessings I received and all the things that happened to me and my family for the past year. There are challenges and disappointments as well, but we managed to overcome them.

We started our 2016 with a tour in Bataan and we ended it with a staycation in Hotel H2O Manila. There are so many adventures that happened in between. We hiked a total of 16 mountains as a family - five of which are major hikes. That also includes Mt. Fansipan, our first ever hike outside the Philippines. We were also able to tour around Davao, South Cotabato, Puerto Princesa, Ilocos, and Vietnam.

Those things are just a dream during my childhood and teenage days. I knew back then that it’s far from happening. In spite of that, 2016 gave me a big surprise. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the people who have been part of our awesome year.

Who do we want to thank this Christmas season and why?

Family

First, thanks to our family (parents, siblings, close relatives) who always extend their love and moral support for our adventures although at first, they are so against about bringing our child to the mountains. Thank you for constantly praying for our safety whenever we spend time outdoors. We love you!

Clients

I would like to thank my clients at KS Web Services. Thank you so much for entrusting me your websites and other online needs. I never imagined that I will be successful in this field, but I end up having a lot of projects in 2016. Because of you, I was able to earn more and we were able to go the places that we only dreamed of before.

Friends

We’d like to thank our friends who are always on the lookout about our travel plans. Thanks to those people who extend their hands to help us during the climb, especially to those who entertain our little one so we can pitch the tent for camping. To our photographer-hiker friends who captured great photos of Wyatt and our family, thank you!

Thanks to our social media friends for constantly following Wyatt Maktrav’s Adventures. And for those who sent us some tips about the place we plan to go, that’s a really big help, so we want to send you a big thank you! Our followers keep us motivated to go for more adventures and you guys are also the reason why the media has found out about us.

Media

Thanks to the Rappler team for having a write up about our son Wyatt Maktrav and for creating a compiled video of his hikes, which garnered over a million views. Thanks to the ABS-CBN team of Tapatan ni Tunying and Matanglawin shows for featuring us, as well as to PTV 4 team of Kasangga Mo ang Langit show. Thanks to the editors of the websites and magazines who featured Wyatt Maktrav. There are so many of you but still, we wanted to extend our heartfelt gratitude. Our life changed and we can’t thank you enough.

Partners / Sponsors

To our adventure partners and sponsors, thank you so much for the trust and support, for helping us achieve and tick off our bucket list. We still have a long way to go but you’ll be forever in our hearts and minds. We won’t forget you and the adventures we’ve experienced because of your help. You made our adventures worthwhile.

Surely, 2016 is a year full of blessings for us; a year full of adventures; a year full of happy memories.

There are a lot of things to be thankful for, but most of all, we thank God for keeping us alive and giving us the gift of wonderful world. We still have more places to visit, explore, and discover; more things to do and experience out of our comfort zone.

2016 has ended but our adventures will continue this 2017.
